This notice describes the information SEPTENCE handles and the purposes for which it may be used or shared.

Information we collect

We collect account and profile information, including usernames, email addresses, account credentials, settings, registration information, and login activity. We also collect information needed for security and service operation, including cookies and network addresses.

We retain gameplay and community activity, including entries, scores, rankings, word-level gameplay actions, timing, revisions, ratings, likes, reviews, friendships, duels, reports, and messages associated with features you use.

How we use information

We may use information to operate, secure, analyze, improve, develop, market, and support SEPTENCE and related services. This includes running puzzles and competitions, calculating scores, providing account and social features, communicating with users, conducting research, preventing abuse, enforcing rules, and complying with legal obligations.

We may create, use, and share aggregated or deidentified information for analytics, research, product development, and other lawful business purposes.

Visibility and sharing

Usernames, profile information, credited entries, scores, rankings, and other game activity may be visible to other users according to the relevant feature and profile settings. Account contact information, credentials, private messages, and moderation records are not intended for public display.

We may share information with service providers and partners that support hosting, communications, storage, analytics, research, security, and other business operations. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the service or its users, with your direction or consent, or as part of a financing, sale, merger, reorganization, or similar business transaction.

Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for service operation, research, security, enforcement, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and other legitimate business purposes. Retention varies according to the type of information and how it is used. Public game records, research records, and information needed to protect the service may be retained after an account closes. Information may also remain in backups until those backups are replaced.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from Profile → Account & security. Public entries and completed game results may remain as part of the game history under “Deleted User.” We may retain research, security, enforcement, transaction-integrity, and legal records when reasonably necessary.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information and operation of the service. No system is perfectly secure.

Children

SEPTENCE is not directed to children under 13. Do not create an account if you are under 13.

Changes

We may update this notice as the service and its practices change. The date above identifies the current version.
